Is Liposuction Plastic Surgery or Just Surgery?
For the millions out there who enjoy a perfect body due to liposuction, there is no doubt whether liposuction is plastic surgery or not. For the most part, the term liposuction is synonymous with plastic surgery. But let us see what the actual meaning of liposuction plastic surgery is. In order to do that, let us first take a look at what liposuction is. Liposuction By definition, liposuction is “the surgical procedure by which fat or adipose is removed from under the skin of a healthy individual”. Liposuction can be done on many parts of the body, including the neck, abdomen, upper arms, chest, breasts, buttocks, thighs, calves, cheeks, and even ankles. Today, liposuction is a very common cosmetic procedure indulged in not only by women but also by men. While women prefer to have more face and neck liposuction done, men concentrate upon their mid-waist and back fat. Liposuction Plastic Surgery As given above, liposuction is the process of removing fat from different parts of the body. The reason for removing fat from the body is not because the fat is diseased but because it looks unsightly. Hence, liposuction is plastic surgery or surgery that improves looks, it does not cure diseases. Though the best way to get rid of fat is still exercising, women today prefer the short cut because they have the cash and they do not have the time to exercise. Liposuction plastic surgery is a correct term to use; a very practical and fast method to look beautiful and an overall safe one too. The Risks of Liposuction Plastic Surgery If all the precautions are taken before the surgery as indicated by the surgeon, then the risks of this procedure are indeed minimal. It is important though that you should have the doctor informed of all the health conditions you have had in the past, so he or she can correctly estimate if there would be any risks involved. Also, it is advisable to undergo many short time sittings, than one long one for the removal of fat through liposuction. Prolonged liposuction plastic surgery has always posed problems during and after the procedure; hence it is better avoided. For best results liposuction plastic surgery can be combined with other cosmetic procedures, especially if the procedure concerns the face. The best advisor however will always be your surgeon, so you should be in very close collaboration with them for any additional interventions so you can get the results that you want for yourself.
